money badger Beta

Beta terms and privacy

Who we are

Money Badger Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 17492064). Contact: claims@moneybadger.co.uk.

What the beta is

A closed test of our flight compensation service with a limited number of people. Features may change, and we may pause the service.

What we do for you

When you ask us to claim for a flight and sign the letter of authority, we claim compensation from the airline on your behalf under UK261 or EU261. We write to the airline, chase it, and may refer the claim to an alternative dispute resolution scheme or a national enforcement body.

Our eligibility checker gives a guide based on what you tell us. It is not legal advice, and we cannot promise any claim will succeed.

Money

During the beta the airline pays compensation to you directly. Money Badger charges no fee for beta claims. Please tell us in the app when you are paid.

Your responsibilities

Give us accurate information, and only ask us to claim for flights you or people on your booking took. Do not claim the same flight through anyone else at the same time. If the airline contacts you directly, let us know.

Withdrawing

You can withdraw a claim or your authority at any time in the app or by emailing us. You can delete your account at any time. If a claim is with an airline, withdraw it first, so we can tell the airline we no longer act for you.

Your data

We hold your email, name, address, optional phone number, flight details and claim history. We use them only to run your claims and the beta, under our contract with you. We share them with the airline (and, if needed, the dispute body) for your claim. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

We keep claim records for up to 6 years after a claim closes, as the law may require, and delete everything else when you delete your account. You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies.

If you connect Gmail

Connecting Gmail is optional. If you do, we ask Google for read-only access to your email. We only search for emails from airlines, and from those we keep only flight details: flight number, date, route, airline, booking reference and passenger name. We do not store the emails themselves, read other emails, send email from your account, or share anything with third parties. Our staff do not read your emails.

Money Badger's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect Gmail at any time in the app, which deletes our access. You can also remove access from your Google Account under Security, then Third-party connections.
